About headline.nz
headline.nz shows you the day's New Zealand news in one place, story by story.
When something happens, it's often reported by several outlets at once — each with its own headline, angle and updates. Following it usually means hopping between sites and reading the same news over and over. We made headline.nz so you can see in a minute what New Zealand is talking about, which outlets are covering each story, and how each of them told it.
What you'll find here
- The stories that matter today. A story is listed once at least two outlets have reported it, and the most widely covered stories come first.
- Every outlet's take. Each story page shows how every outlet headlined it, with links to read the full reports.
- The bigger picture. Follow-ups, reactions and connected events are linked, so you can follow a story as it develops.
- New Zealand first. We focus on news from Aotearoa. Overseas stories appear only when they involve New Zealand.
- In your language. headline.nz is also available in 中文, 한국어, 日本語 and Español.
Support the journalism
We don't write the news or republish it. Every headline links to the original report on the outlet's own site, and photos are credited to the outlet they come from. If a story matters to you, read it there — and consider supporting the newsrooms that produce it.
