Wellington City Councillors approve extra $83m for sludge plant completion

Wellington City Councillors have voted to provide an additional $83 million to complete a sludge minimisation facility. Total projected costs for the plant have risen to over $500 million, which is more than double the original 2021 estimate. Requests for an immediate independent review into the cost increase were voted down.
