Heavy rain and gales expected across South Island and Wellington

An active weather front is forecast to bring heavy rain and northwest gales to the South Island and lower North Island. MetService has issued an orange heavy rain warning for Westland, with some areas expecting up to 200mm of rain. The storm is also causing disruptions to Air New Zealand flights.
