Police investigate deliberate fires and disorder at Māhia beach

Police say fires were intentionally lit on a Māhia beach on Saturday night during a gathering of hundreds of young people. Officers also reported that glass bottles were thrown at a police vehicle. Acting Inspector Andrew Knox noted that many individuals involved appeared to be intoxicated.
