Hundreds of drivers at the VTNZ Highbrook branch were required to resit practical tests following allegations of bribery involving staff. Five testing officers were dismissed, and more than 40% of those compelled to retake their tests have failed. The Serious Fraud Office is now handling the investigation after police shelved their criminal probe.
