Hawke’s Bay man jailed for brutal violence against pregnant partner

Joel Leef has been sentenced to over eight years in prison following a three-week period of assaults on his partner. The Napier District Court heard that the victim, who was six months pregnant, suffered a miscarriage during the violence. Leef also forced the woman into a dog kennel during the attacks.
