The Representation Commission has proposed removing the Ōhāriu, Mana, and Ōtaki electorates to create two new seats, Kenepuru and Kapiti. These changes would result in the lower North Island losing one electorate due to population data. The proposal is part of a five-year reassessment of New Zealand's electoral boundaries.
