North Canterbury gorse fire reignites following strong winds

Firefighters and helicopters returned to Eyrewell on Monday to battle a flare-up of a Sunday scrub fire. The blaze, located near Poyntzs Road on the Waimakariri River, was reignited by strong winds. Approximately 45 firefighters were called to the scene at around 5.10am to contain the fire.
