KiwiRail to sell retired Aratere ferry for recycling in India

KiwiRail has agreed to sell the Interislander ferry Aratere to a buyer who will take the vessel to a specialist recycling shipyard in India. The ferry was retired after 26 years of service to allow for port infrastructure redevelopment in Picton.
