A man has died after being taken into custody at Ōrere Point Beach in rural Auckland. The incident followed a car chase from Papakura, during which the man allegedly threatened officers with a samurai sword and bit an officer's hand. He was tasered and pepper sprayed before losing consciousness and failing to be revived.
