Volunteers call for restoration of Ōhope Beach West End walkway

Approximately 100 people attended a Whakatāne District Council meeting to support reopening the West End walkway. One access point to Otarawairere Bay has remained closed for four years following slips. Volunteers claim health and safety concerns are preventing the restoration of the Ngā Tapuwae o Toi section.
