Assaults on Health NZ hospital staff increase by 30 per cent

Reported assaults on Health NZ hospital staff rose 30% over two years, with 7,777 incidents recorded in the year to June. Health NZ attributes the increase to complex societal factors and has spent $31m on extra security. Some workers suggest the actual number may be higher due to unreported incidents.
