Severe gales and snow forecast for Otago and Southland

MetService has issued warnings for damaging gales and snow across the lower South Island. Motorists are urged to take care as strong southwesterly winds and snowfall affect mountain passes, including the Crown Range and Milford roads. Some areas in Central Otago have already experienced snow.
