Ashburton District Council opposes Rakaia speed limit increase

The Ashburton District Council has written to the NZ Transport Agency to strongly oppose increasing the speed limit on State Highway 1 through Rakaia. The limit is currently scheduled to return to 70kph by 1 July, following a reduction to 50kph last year.
