An active low-pressure system is expected to bring heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds to much of the North Island this week. MetService has warned of potential hail and possible tornadoes. While a severe thunderstorm warning for Waikato and Bay of Plenty has been lifted, more unsettled weather is expected.
