Federated Farmers' dairy group chair Karl Dean says New Zealanders are fortunate to have premium butter as their only option. Stats NZ data shows butter prices rose nearly 50 per cent for the year ended May. Dean hopes retail prices will decrease once the cost of milk solids drops.
