The Department of Conservation says more than 150 predator traps have been systematically tampered with in a South Island national park. Volunteers and staff discovered traps between Dart Valley and west Matukituki Valley had been disarmed or blocked by rocks. Officials warned the vandalism could lead to increased predator numbers and native species deaths.
