A man is in serious condition in hospital following a fire in his cell at the Spring Hill Corrections Facility in the Waikato. The fire occurred at 4.45pm on Friday and was extinguished by the facility's sprinkler system. The prisoner was taken to hospital due to smoke inhalation.
