Man convicted of manslaughter in Manurewa park to be deported

Simon Tavita will be deported to Samoa following his conviction for the 2020 manslaughter of Nigel Fuatimu. The incident occurred in Jellicoe Park, where Tavita and a friend dropped a brick on an unconscious man and kicked him. Tavita was released from prison last year but failed to remain in New Zealand.
