Severe weather warnings issued for South Island

An active front is bringing heavy rain and strong gales across the South Island. While temperatures are expected to reach between 8C and 17C, MetService has issued orange heavy rain warnings and severe gale watches. Heavy rainfall and strong winds are also expected to hit Auckland on Friday morning.
