Person fined for dumping and burning rubbish on Canterbury beach

A fisherman filmed a man dumping a trailer of trash and setting it alight at Dorie Beach near Rakaia. Following the complaint, the Ashburton District Council confirmed that a person has been fined $400 for the incident.
