Man who died at Karioitahi Beach named by police

Police have identified Ali Hayder Hadi, 26, of Te Atatū Peninsula, as the man who died at Karioitahi Beach last week. He was visiting the beach with his brother and two friends when they encountered difficulties in the water on 8 December. An Auckland Rescue Helicopter crew was previously called to the scene.
