MetService issues strong wind watch for parts of the South Island

MetService has issued a strong wind watch for several southern regions, including Southland, Dunedin, and Central Otago. A new frontal system is expected to bring potentially damaging winds and strong gusts to much of the South Island. Heavy rain may also cause rivers and streams in South Westland to rise rapidly.
