Motorcyclist seriously injured after crashing while fleeing police in Lower Hutt

A motorcyclist is in serious condition after crashing into a fence on Taita Drive in Lower Hutt around 10.30pm on Sunday. Police say the rider was observed driving dangerously before allegedly accelerating and overtaking another vehicle to avoid being stopped. The rider sustained serious leg injuries and was taken to hospital.
