Murder accused unable to appear in court due to hospitalisation

A 63-year-old man charged with the murder of Yvonne Chapman has missed his first court appearance. The accused remains in hospital being treated for serious injuries. Chapman died after being shot at a public reserve in Whangārei nearly four weeks ago.
