Waikato woman sentenced for attempted murder of three-year-old son

Alka Dahiya, 36, has been sentenced to five years and one month in prison for the attempted murder of her toddler in July 2024. During the incident, she attacked the boy's neck with a meat cleaver. The High Court at Hamilton heard the attack occurred during an acute psychological crisis.
