Invasive Mediterranean fanworm discovered in Bluff Harbour

A 59cm Mediterranean fanworm was found under the Bluff wharf during routine surveillance. The Southland Regional Council is working to determine if the invasive species has spread. This worm competes with oysters and mussels for food.
