Failed asylum seeker sentenced to eight years for sex crimes

Amir Mohebbi has been sentenced in the Auckland District Court following his conviction on five charges, including rape and threatening to kill. Mohebbi, whose asylum claims have been rejected for nearly three decades, committed the offences against an intoxicated woman while on parole.
