Fire destroys apartment in Wellington council-owned building

A fire destroyed a third-floor apartment in a Pukehīnau building on Sunday afternoon. While the building lacked sprinklers, the manager noted that working smoke alarms helped prevent the blaze from spreading further. Fire and Emergency investigations into the cause of the fire are currently ongoing.
