Officers used excessive force during 2022 arrest of youths

The IPCA found two police officers used excessive force when arresting five youths aged 10 to 14 in southeast Auckland. The incident occurred in September 2022 after police stopped a stolen vehicle. The officers involved will keep their jobs.
