One person dies following water incident at Pilot Bay Beach

A person has died after being pulled unresponsive from the water at Pilot Bay Beach in Mount Maunganui on Thursday morning. Emergency services were notified of the incident just before 8.20am. Despite efforts to revive the individual, they died at the scene and police inquiries are ongoing.
