Seven publicly funded, privately owned charter schools are set to open within the next fortnight. Some institutions are already turning students away due to high demand, including a Christchurch school with 60 enrolments and a 40-student waitlist. Tipene boarding school is scheduled to open in Auckland on Waitangi Day.
