Farms and farmers fined for unlawful dairy effluent discharges

Two farmers and two farming companies have been fined a total of $108,000 for unlawful dairy effluent discharges near Te Awamutu. The Waikato Regional Council brought three separate prosecutions regarding improper irrigator use. The cases were heard in the Huntly District Court on 1 December.
