The Supreme Court has dismissed Lai Toy's bid to overturn convictions for animal ill-treatment and neglect. Toy had argued that an ownership ban breached her rights, claiming animals are taonga. She was previously found to have breached a disqualification order after more than 120 animals were found on her Waharoa property.
