New Zealander charged with attempted murder of Laotian activist in France

A New Zealander has been arrested and charged following a knife attack on Laotian political activist Joseph Akaravong in Pau. Mr Akaravong was reportedly stabbed three times on 14 June and is recovering in hospital. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed it is aware of the arrest.
