Severe weather causes slips and road closures in Bay of Plenty

Heavy rain and strong winds have caused multiple slips, including a complete closure of State Highway 33 at Okere Falls. Crews are currently clearing debris and downed trees from roads. A severe thunderstorm watch was in place for Bay of Plenty, Rotorua, and Gisborne earlier this morning.
