A coroner has questioned how lifeguards failed to notice seven-year-old Gerrard-Junior Raunga Williams-Bogileka when he drowned at a Whanganui aquatic centre in 2020. The boy reportedly lost his balance after spinning in a training pool before falling into the water. Two recommendations have been made to the local council.
