Communities across New Zealand celebrate Matariki

People nationwide gathered to mark the Māori New Year by watching the Matariki star cluster rise. Celebrations included a Hautapu ceremony on Mauao with over 400 attendees and cultural events during Whānau Day at Te Puia in Rotorua.
