Man accused of murdering mother in Papatoetoe identified as her son

Phillip Beale, 50, has been identified as the man accused of murdering his mother, Joan Beale, in South Auckland. The 84-year-old woman was found dead at her Papatoetoe home on 9 August. Beale was previously charged with assault before facing a murder charge.
