Auckland oyster farm closes following sewage contamination

Oyster farmer Tom Walters has closed his Matakana Oysters business due to sewage overflows in the Mahurangi River. Walters blames Watercare and poor urban planning for the wastewater entering the Mahurangi Harbour after heavy rain earlier this month. The contamination has reportedly spoiled harvests and threatened local farming.
