Toddler died after choking on drawing pin in Auckland

A coroner has ruled the death of Siuta Laulaupea’alu Uhi an accident. The toddler died at Waitākere Hospital in November 2025 after swallowing a drawing pin that obstructed his airway while playing at home. Despite efforts from his family and medical staff, he could not be resuscitated.
