Education Minister Erica Stanford met with iwi leaders outside Parliament to receive a petition signed by nearly 24,000 people. The petition calls for the government to reverse recent changes that removed explicit requirements for school boards to give effect to the Treaty of Waitangi. Stanford and iwi leader Rahui Papa later held a joint press conference.
