Paul Smith denies cannabis cultivation and dealing charges

Paul Smith, known as Gandalf the green fairy, pleaded not guilty to charges of cultivating, dealing, and possessing cannabis for supply in Whangārei District Court. Supporters gathered outside the courthouse to protest, claiming Smith has provided medicinal cannabis to people suffering from chronic pain and anxiety.
