Tongariro Alpine Crossing reopens after week-long rāhui

The Tongariro Alpine Crossing has reopened following a seven-day rāhui after a wildfire affected 3,000 hectares of Tongariro National Park. Fire investigators are currently requesting dashcam footage from motorists who were travelling on State Highway 47 during the event.
