Hawke's Bay growers abandon bid to buy McCain Hastings plant

A group of Hawke's Bay vegetable growers has ended its attempt to purchase the McCain processing facility in Hastings. The bid was withdrawn after growers discovered that essential processing equipment would not be included in the sale. The factory is scheduled to close by January 2027.
