Auckland Council is proceeding with plans to convert part of the Takapuna Golf Course into a wetland for flood storage. The decision follows the rejection of an alternative proposal to drain floodwater into Shoal Bay. While the 18-hole course will be reduced, golf can still be played on nine holes.
