New Zealand First leader Winston Peters has described the mandate to fluoridate Whangārei's drinking water as a disgrace. Director-General of Health Dr Diana Sarfati has ordered the Whangārei District Council to implement the measure for 80,000 people by 28 March. In response, Peters has introduced a Member's Bill to return decision-making power to local communities.
