Homicide investigation launched after Mt Eden prison inmate dies

A homicide investigation is underway following the death of a male prisoner at Mt Eden Corrections Facility. The man died in hospital on 8 December after being admitted with critical injuries following an alleged assault by a cellmate on 29 November. This marks the third such death at the prison within a year.
