Matamata student killed after being struck by train

Sarie Morton, a 13-year-old Matamata College student, died on Wednesday afternoon after being hit by a freight train. The incident occurred near the school at the intersection of College and Firth Streets. Police and WorkSafe have launched an investigation into the tragedy.
