Parliament increases security as hīkoi arrives in Wellington

Tens of thousands of people are expected to gather at Parliament grounds today as the Hīkoi mō te Tiriti reaches Wellington. The protest, which began nine days ago in the Far North, is a response to the Treaty Principles Bill. Security measures have been tightened at Parliament in preparation for the arrival.
